Her Lazy Eye

Her Lazy Eye

She ignores who’s hurt or poor.

Shows careless neglect for

those in distress or those who grieve.

Amblyoplia,

not seeing tribulation,

not seeing hopelessness.

Others’ anguish and misery are things foreign.

Her eye does not recognize suffering.

She feels no need to strengthen her lazy eye,

prefers to keep the symptoms,

a problem with her brain,

a problem with her heart.
