The Fairy Chain

The Fairy Chain

So long as it keeps --

swinging, quiet wings,

then this truth keeps.

So too in the page of a novel,

purple and red wolves

painted, in moon song,

on a green bracelet.

I did not think to burn,

or dispose curbside,

like the shunned,

or shamed.

All is in keeping.

History leaves

footsteps

linking

two dark stars.
